'The Bachelor' Recap: Season 23, Week 9

Monday's episode of 'The Bachelor' was A LOT of D-R-A-M-A. No, I am not exaggerating this. I think this episode was the most dramatic episode of the whole season so far.

Are you wondering why? Well, you are about to find out in Season 23, Week 9's recap of 'The Bachelor'.

After an intense week of hometown dates, we finally reach THE FANTASY SUITES! Cheers to that!

Last season on 'The Bachelorette,' Becca sent Colton home the week before Fantasy Suites. Colton is also a virgin, so the Fantasy Suites are a big deal. Cassie, Tayshia, and Hannah G. are still on 'The Bachelor'. Colton takes the remaining ladies to Algarve, Portugal.

Tayshia's One-on-One Date

Colton's first Fantasy Suite date is with Tayshia. Tayshia is hoping that "all of new firsts" are in store for her and Colton to take on together. Colton and Tayshia start off their date "the only way they know how"...in the sky, but this time, in a helicopter. Colton even said during his confessional that he is falling in love with Tayshia. While in the sky, they kiss and gaze out at the sky below them.

Tayshia and Colton drink champagne on the edge of the coast. Colton tells Tayshia that his hometown date with her family went well. He expresses to Tayshia his excitement for the Fantasy Suites. The couple climbs to the top of a lighthouse.

ABC | The Bachelor

Tayshia and Colton's date continues with a candlelight dinner. Colton addresses that tonight is a big night involving sex and intimacy. Tayshia takes on the conversation, and tells with Colton how she lost her virginity to her (ex) husband. She shares with Colton about her ex husband cheated on her, but she took her heartbreak to focus on having a more positive outlook on life.

Colton and Tayshia decide to head into the Fantasy Suite together. Tayshia spends the night with Colton. Tayshia does not get the physical intimacy from Colton that she anticipates, but she is thankful for the time she spends with him.

Cassie's One on-One Date – Part One

Colton's next date this week is with Cassie. Cassie and Colton's date is very dramatic, so I split up writing about their date into two parts. (See below.) Anyway, Cassie and Colton explore the streets, eat lunch outdoors, kid around in a few shops, dance with the locals, and make out in an alley. Cassie feels safe and comfortable with Colton. She can see herself having a future with him.

ABC | The Bachelor

Cassie and Colton sip on red wine while sitting on a ledge that looks out to the many buildings in the city. Colton mentions how he enjoyed meeting Cassie's family. Colton and Cassie care a lot about each other and express that to one another. Cassie asks Colton about how his conversation was with her dad. Cassie's dad's concern for Cassie is whether she is ready to for the commitment to spend the rest of her life with Colton. Colton explains to Cassie that her father, Matt Randolph, did not give Colton his blessing for him to marry Cassie. Cassie is taken aback by this because her parents trust her to make the right decision, and is confused with where she stands involving her feelings for Colton.

ABC | The Bachelor

Colton is not discouraged by not receiving permission from Matt Randolph to marry his daughter. Cassie wishes Colton had told her that after the hometown date while they were in Huntington Beach. Cassie's family means the world to her, and how they feel about her relationship with Colton. She is wondering whether Colton is the right person for her and/or if she needs more time to spend with him. She is also worried because she hasn't told Colton about how confused she is with how she now feels about their relationship.

Cassie's Father's Surprise Visit

Before Cassie and Colton's evening portion of their date, Cassie's father, Matt, surprises Cassie at the door of her hotel room in Portugal. (Wow, that must have been a schlep to travel from Huntington Beach, California all the way to Europe.)

Matt is concerned about Cassie's relationship with Colton because an engagement could be just around the corner. Cassie anticipated her parents were going to be more accepting of her relationship with Colton, but the opposite happens. When Matt asks Cassie if she loves Colton, she (hesitantly) says, "I think I do." However, she wants more time to spend with him, but she is nervous about accepting a proposal. Matt wasn't looking for a relationship when his wife, Cassie's mom, came into his life, but then "boom." He wants Cassie to have that happy feeling with someone she loves and wants to spend the rest of her life with. He advises Cassie to think long term and for her to follow her heart without hesitation.

Cassie's One on-One Date – Part Two

Cassie has more clarity with how she feels about her relationship with Colton, and she believes that she needs to send herself home. On the other hand, Colton is in a very good place and is very excited for what will happen after dinner (aka the overnight). During bits of Colton's confessional video clips, Colton says, "Cass is the one," and that he loves her.

(Now, I don't know about you, but we know that Cassie's intention for the evening is to break up with him...Grab the popcorn, because man, are we going to see a lot of tears.)

After making a toast, Colton takes the time to articulate better how he felt about him and Cassie's conversation from earlier about him meeting Cassie's family. Cassie expected her father to have left more of an open-ended question for Colton, rather than him not being given her father's permission in marriage. Cassie opens up to Colton about how her father surprised her at her hotel room and their conversation. Cassie does not want to see Colton leave Portugal without what he was looking for, and she tells Colton that she loves him "so much, so much." However, she isn't in love, and is having doubts about her relationship with Colton. The emotions sink in for Colton, and Cassie stands up to get some air. (Cue the dramatic instrumental music, y'all.) In the words of Kevin Hart...

Colton walks outside to comfort Cassie, and he tells her that he will be patient with her. Colton asks Cassie if she has made a decision about what she wants to do, and she still doesn't know. Colton does not want to lose Cassie. He cannot stop thinking about her, and he wants to be with her.

They walk back to the couch they were sitting on. Colton wants to take his time with his relationship with Cassie, even if there is not an engagement immediately when filming the show comes to a finish. He puts his whole heart on the line. He says, "I love you," to Cassie. His feelings are so strong for her. He has not really known where Cassie has been about their relationship until this evening.

They profess their love for each other. In the end, Cassie and Colton have a teary-eyed goodbye. Cassie departs to go home.

Is this the complete end of their relationship?? I don't know, but hopefully we will find out soon.

Colton's Fence-Jump

Now for "the Moment Everyone Will Be Talking About Tomorrow," as described by Chris Harrison. Colton heads inside of another room. Minutes later, he opens the door and walks out of the room. As he goes downstairs, he lifts his arm so his hand can cover the video camera that is filming him. He approaches double doors that look like a fence. Rather than walking through the doors, he hops over.

Chris Harrison and a few other producers shout, "Colton!" However, it seems as though Colton is no where to be found...

Well, that's all for now!

Will Cassie and Colton end up together or is their relationship over? Will Colton still go on a fantasy suite date with Hannah G.?

Stay tuned for next week's two-night special of 'The Bachelor' on Monday and Tuesday on ABC!
