The action is heating up in Week 5 of 'The Bachelor'.
Colton's journey to finding love advances to Thailand, and the women are bagging their drama to take to this new destination.
The First One-On-One Date
Will Heather finally have her first kiss? Will Heather's first kiss be with Colton? The answers to these questions will be answered on the first one-on-date of this episode.
Heather and Colton enjoy a boat ride and stroll around a Thai market. Leading up to the evening, Heather, who is also a virgin, shares during her confessionals that she really wants Colton to kiss her. (No kisses on this date so far, despite the few opportunities that the pair passes up on.)
Heather and Colton sit at a candlelit table later in the evening. Heather shares with Colton that she dated a man for eight months. Colton gives Heather the one-on-one date rose.
Colton leads Heather to stand up as they gaze into the sky to watch fireworks. Sparks are flying as Colton and Heather share a kiss under the sky. To answer my questions from before, yes, Heather finally has her first kiss, and it is with Colton.
Elyse's Eliminates Herself
Heather is all smiles with the other women as she gushes about her date with Colton. However, Elyse, wearing her "statement dress," exits the room and leaves the hotel to have a conversation with Colton.
Elyse received the first one-on-one date of the season, and it was one of the best dates of Elyse's life.
During her confrontation with Colton, Elyse tells him that she would not be able to accept a proposal after a few months of sharing him with the other women who have been vying for Colton's love. (Honey, don't forget that this is what you signed up for.) Elyse decides to leave the competition.
The Group Date
Onyeka, Demi, Hannah B., Caelynn, Katie, Hannah G., Tayshia, Nicole, Sydney, and Kirpa go on a group date in a Thai jungle with Colton. The women meet Joe, a man who grew up living in the jungle. The women are split up into three groups for a competition to find water and food. Two of the groups get their hands dirty with collecting maggots and other insects to eat, in addition to water they retrieve from cutting bamboo plants. Meanwhile, Group 3, consisting of Demi, Hannah G., and Hannah B., decide to take on a more logical approach to the challenge by taking a bus back to civilization to bring back cheeseburgers and champagne.
Colton and the women who are on the group date spend the evening talking and drinking cocktails. Tayshia and Colton's connection strengthens. They share a special moment together on the beach.
Hannah B.'s feelings for Colton are "on a trajectory". She expresses to Colton that she is falling in love with him.
The drama pot stirs as Onyeka and Nicole speak about Nicole. Onyeka confronts Colton about what Elyse told her about Nicole. Onyeka tells Colton that Nicole went on 'The Bachelor' so she can "find opportunities to leave Miami." In fact, one of Colton's fears is to be with someone who isn't actually there for him. Colton steals Nicole away to talk to her about what Onyeka told him. Nicole denies the accusations and that she couldn't be "further from the truth."
Onyeka explains her side of the story to the rest of the women on the group date, but hold up, Tayshia steps in. Tayshia tells Onyeka that Nicole never said that she went on the show to find opportunities to leave Miami. Tayshia shares that Nicole said, "You have to take opportunities and they can change your life." Nicole opens up to Onyeka about her confusion as to why she is spreading rumors. Tayshia sticks up for Nicole.
Colton gives the group date rose to Hannah B.
The Second One-On-One Date
Cassie is chosen to go on the second one-on-one date with Colton. They board a boat that takes them out to sea. The boat takes Cassie and Colton to a "private island" that is a mass of sand surrounded by the water. They go for a dip into the ocean. Cassie and Colton kiss...and kiss...and kiss.
A lot of the women in the hotel can sense the strong connection between Cassie and Colton. ("What do you think Cassie is doing?") In the nighttime, Cassie tells Colton that she is not a virgin, and how her love life is now out in the open on television. Colton voices that he is proud of who he is.
Colton does not normally let ladies in his bed on the first date, but Cassie is an exception to that. They cuddle and share a few kisses in a bed. Colton reveals to Cassie that he is crazy about her. Colton gives Cassie the one-on-one date rose.
The Cocktail Hour
The cocktail party kicks off with Tayshia and Colton on the beach. They light a lantern, make a wish together, and release the lantern to float away into the night sky. Tayshia is excited to soar to new heights in her relationship with Colton. Demi gives Colton a trust ring to symbolize them to have open communication. Kirpa channels her dental hygienist occupation and flosses Colton's teeth.
Nicole make it clear to Colton that she left Miami to go on 'The Bachelor' for "the possibility of love." Then, she tells Colton about how Onyeka has been bullying her and has called her "emotionally unstable." Colton does not have time for any belittling and bullying.
Moving on to the other side of the drama, Colton and Onyeka have a conversation. Colton addresses that he heard Onyeka has been bullying others and that she called someone "mentally unstable." This was not the conversation Onyeka wanted to have because she wanted to move forward with her relationship with Colton.
Katie and Colton talk, but their conversation is interrupted as Onyeka and Nicole's bickering gets louder. The episode ends with a "To be continued..."
